When you’re running high-speed PET blowing, you don’t have a second to waste. The window to get that preform heated is tiny. That’s why we built our 400V IR radiators. The deal with 400V heating Most lamps out there run on 230V. We went with 400V because it lets us cram more power into the same amount of space. Basically, it means the lamps heat up way faster. In a rotary machine, things move quick. If you have a slow thermal lag, you’re in trouble. You’ll end up with bottles that have uneven walls because the heat didn’t hit the mark in time. With 400V, the filament hits peak intensity the moment it’s triggered. No “cold start” lag. Just heat. Built for the grind We used heavy-wall quartz glass so the tubes don’t bow when things get scorching. But the real secret is in the connectors. We machined them to be tight. Why? Because at 400V, a loose connection is a disaster. It’ll arc and fry your socket in a matter of hours. We spent a lot of time on those contact points so they can handle the brutal current spikes that happen during rapid cycling. A heads-up on the shop floor Here’s the thing: these lamps put out a massive amount of heat. That’s great for your throughput, but it puts a lot of pressure on your ventilation. If your cooling blowers are clogged or just too weak, the air inside the chamber gets too hot. If that happens, your preforms might start to deform before they even get to the blowing stage. You’ve got to balance that 400V punch with clean, steady airflow to keep everything stable. We build these things to take a beating in 24/7 production.
