When we’re designing infrared lamps for the bathroom, we aren’t just fighting the cold. We’re fighting the glare. Most standard short-wave lamps are just… too bright. They put out this harsh, blinding white light that feels totally out of place in a bathroom. And if you’ve got a baby in the house, that kind of intensity is a real problem for their eyes. So, we decided to change how the light actually works. Keeping the heat, losing the glare To keep things safe, we use special quartz glass and internal coatings. Think of it like a filter. It blocks out that annoying visible light and pushes the energy into the mid-wave infrared range. The result? You get all that cozy, skin-penetrating warmth, but the light stays soft and dim. It’s basically a physics trick—we kill off the light you see so we can maximize the heat you feel. Built for the steam Bathrooms are tough on electronics. Between the steam and the humidity, a cheap lamp will burn out in no time. We make our seals airtight. If moisture hits the filament, it’s game over, so we make sure it stays locked out. We also tweak the wattage and voltage so the glass doesn’t get dangerously hot to the touch. One quick tip: watch where you mount these. Even though the light is softer, the heat is still powerful. If you hang them too low, you’re looking at skin burns. Give yourself some breathing room. The trade-off Here’s the thing: you can’t have it all. Because we’re filtering out the visible light, these lamps aren’t “bright” in the traditional sense. If you were trying to light up a workshop, this would be a terrible design. You’d be stumbling around in the dark. But in a bathroom? That’s exactly what we want. We’d much rather you feel warm and relaxed than feel like you’re standing under a stadium spotlight while you’re trying to dry off.
